Carlos died on Dec. 5, 1982. He was shot by a former college roommate who, along with his family, was living with Carlos and his wife, Karen, in their Mountain View, CA, home. After shooting at all the people in the home at that time, the man committed suicide. Carlos was the only fatality. It was later determined that the shooter was suffering from depression related to being out of work and unable to support his family.

Carlos lives on in his son, Carlos John Rosario, who was born after his father's death. Carlos John looks, acts, and thinks like his Dad.

One could not ask for a better friend than Carlos. We shared some great times, not only while at UHS, but later in California. How ironic that Carlos would lose his life doing what he always did, being a great friend. Peace be with you my friend.

Carlos and I met in first grade at the Immaculate, his wit was quick and his laugh, highly infectious. We pal'd up again in UHS band.I'll never forget, Carlos,Kenny Papagan and I drew straws to see who would run for Pres. V. Pres. and Sgt. @ arms of the marching band. Carlos won so he got to be Sgt. @ arms! "you lost Cummings, you have to be Pres!!" and so it went.He once had me call up his Mom, pretending to be my father, to assure her that "oh he'll be just fine Ma'm, don't you fret I'll watch these two like a hawk".I'm happy to say I cannot for the life of me remember what the hell we did that night.Thank God.Thank you too Carlos ol' friend.Godspeed to Karen H. and Carlos jr..... yer dad sure was one of the good guys in this world. I first met Carlos in Freshman World History class with Sr. Leah. We became good friends and both shared our experiences regarding boy scouts and the Ymca. I will never forget him.

Lord's peace,

Marty Poluse
