Crystal Grybos (Freedland)

CHELMSFORD- Crystal C. (Grybos) Freedland, age 68, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at home.

She was born on April 29, 1952 in Youngstown, OH and was a daughter of the late Anthony and Jeanette (Gillies) Grybos.

Crystal attended Youngstown State University in Ohio and received her Master’s in Business Administration from UMASS Boston and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Crystal spent her career in the high-tech industry where she held positions in human resources, including Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at multiple startup companies. She worked for Concentric Visions in Burlington, Amazon/PlanetAll/Exchange.com in Cambridge, and Digital Products/Osicom in Watertown.

With her outgoing personality, she made new friends very easily no matter where she lived and worked. She was often seen starting conversations with people she met while shopping or dining which always brought laughter and smiles to the people she met.

She used her extensive human resources background to help friends and former co-workers to prepare for job interviews and locate job opportunities.

Her interests included dining, spending time with friends, and watching television shows from India.

Even though she had made New England her home, she would often share family stories and photos, reminiscing about her childhood in Youngstown Ohio and the good times she had with her three sisters.

She leaves her three sisters; Arlene I. Czyzowski (Grybos), Doriane D. Grybos and Lydia L. Grybos all of Tampa, FL, and was a loving Aunt to her niece, Alexia Czyzowski, her two nephews; Jason Czyzowski (Bonnie Edgerly, Toryn and Ashur Czyzowski) and Anthony Czyzowski. She also leaves behind her cherished dear friends George Economou and John Thompson who were family to her.

So sad.  I remember Chrystal from the classes we shared at St. Christine's when I had a crush on her.  She had such beauty and an incredibly kind personality.  She inspired me to read a novel about Lebanon about a girl named Chrystal, that I still remember today.  She had a magnetic personality that she did not realize inspired so many others.  So sad to hear of her passing.  Glad she found success in her MBA program and career.  Bill Kakish

Crystal was exceedingly friendly and I will always remember the fun we had at the skating parties. Sounds like she made good use of her talents. God bless her family at this time.

I don’t think I have seen her since graduation. My memories of her were that she was so friendly.
