AUSTINTOWN - Laura A. Kurylak, 63, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday evening, July 24, 2016, at her home. Laura was born Oct. 5, 1952, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late William and Florence Donofrio Thomas, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1970 graduate of Ursuline High School and was a graduate of the Choffin School of Nursing. She worked as an LPN for over 20 years at Warren General Hospital and as a home healthcare worker. Mrs. Kurylak also worked for the past four years with Spitzer Chevrolet in North Jackson as an office worker. Laura was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Laura truly enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward M. Kurylak, whom she married June 17, 1978; two daughters, Ondrea Kurylak at home and Adrienne Kurylak of Mineral Ridge; four grandsons, Isaac, Jonah, Caleb, and Kason; a brother, William (Shelly) Thomas of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Louise Walker of Newton Falls and Roberta (Joe) Martin of Niles; and three sisters-in-law, Marian (Ted) Jennings of Lancaster, Pa., Fran (Brian) Chadwick of Canfield, and Mary Kay Rosetti of McKinney, Texas.

Family and friends call from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 28, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, July 29, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
