James Naples

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – James “Gee Gee” M. Naples, 65, departed this life Monday, February 5, 2018 unexpectedly due to a brief illness at St. Elizabeth’s Youngstown with his daughter and brother by his side.

James was born February 16, 1952 in Youngstown to the late Frank G. and Delores P. LaGamba Naples.

He was a 1970 graduate of Ursuline High School.

In his younger years, James was an avid lover of fishing with his grandfather, the late Jim LaGamba; he also enjoyed traveling.

He was an attendant at his father’s previous business, the Northside Service Station.

Those who knew James could attest that he lived his life the way he wanted; it was to the “fullest” and nothing less. The last five years of James’ life were consumed by what he claimed to be “the best thing that had ever happened to him”, and that was his five-year-old grandson, Bryson. James acquired a new nickname during this time that was “PeePaw”. They spent much time together, some of which included pick-ups from school, doing yard work, water fights, fruit roll-up eating contests, practicing golfing and archery in the backyard; simply enjoying each other’s company.

James is survived by his daughter, Victoria Naples and grandson, Bryson Mosley both of Youngstown; a brother, Frank Naples of Boardman; a close cousin, Michael “Dixie” (Lisa) Dominic of Dania Beach, Florida and a host of many other family members and friends.

His family would like to thank the ER and ICU staff of St. Elizabeth Youngstown for their outstanding service.
