Jack Runyan

 Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, for John Michael “Jack” Runyan of Youngstown who passed away May 19, 2011. John was born January 9 1952 in Youngstown the son of John Joseph and Mary Theresa (Malley) Runyan and was a graduate of Ursuline High School class of 1970. He was an over the road truck driver with Crete Carriers. Jack, as he was more commonly known, had a contagious smile, a love for life, and whoever met Jack knew that he enjoyed everything life had to offer him. He always made people laugh. Jack was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a great friend. Jack love to ride his softail, and he was a member of A.B.A.T.E. of Ohio, A.M.A. as well as an avid Browns fan, bowler and enjoyed karaoke. Jack was also a bass player in several bands over the years most recently with “Best of Friends”. Jack met his wife “Bertie” while playing in a band with her brother T.J. Jack leaves his wife, the former Alberta “Bertie” Johnson whom he married July 4, 2008. He leaves seven children; Shawna (Carlos) Atilano and Carlene Diez both of Scottsboro AL, Kristen Runyan of Miami FL, John M. Runyan Jr., of Marathon FL, Leslieann Medicus of Youngstown, April (Mike) Stellfox of Winterville OH, and David (Weslene) Medicus of Youngstown, two brothers; Jim Runyan of Cathedral City California, and Pat Runyan of Palm Springs California. Jack also leaves 13 grandchildren who lovingly called him “Papa Jack”. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday and again from noon to the time of services at 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
